I have been a wildlife artist for over 27 years, exhibiting my work internationally in Canada, the United States, Turkey, Russia, and Australia. Living in London, Ontario, I am surrounded by an incredible variety of wildlife that continually inspires my paintings. From nesting bald eagles and owls to great blue herons, egrets, white-tailed deer, and an exceptional assortment of diving ducks, I have no shortage of remarkable subjects. I also travel extensively to photograph wildlife, always embracing the adventure of discovering new references.

I work exclusively in oils on canvas. Each painting begins on a black canvas, where I sketch the composition with a white pencil. One aspect of my technique that often surprises people is that I never use black paint in my palette. Instead, I build the painting by establishing the lightest areas first, allowing the colours to remain vibrant, luminous, and clean throughout the process.

I am especially fascinated by the abstract beauty of reflections on water. The constantly changing patterns, colours, and movement create endless opportunities for artistic expression, which is why I particularly enjoy painting wildlife in aquatic settings. My goal is to create paintings filled with atmosphere, emotion, and drama, inviting the viewer to experience the beauty and intensity of the natural world.

Once each painting is complete, it is finished with a high-gloss varnish to enhance the richness and depth of the colours before being professionally framed.
